A deleted Wikipedia page is painful — sometimes embarrassing. But it is not necessarily the end. Here is how to understand what happened and whether a second attempt makes sense.
Why Wikipedia pages get deleted
Insufficient notability. First, the community decided the subject does not meet Wikipedia's standards. Sometimes this is correct, but sometimes the page simply presented the case poorly.
Promotional tone. In addition, marketing language triggers rapid community response. In fact, even a notable subject can be deleted for tone alone.
Copyright issues. Also, text copied from the subject's own website or from other copyrighted sources leads directly to deletion.
Conflict of interest without disclosure. Moreover, a hidden commercial engagement detected without disclosure leads to deletion — and often to reputational damage too.
Insufficient sources. Finally, even with notability, if the page does not cite enough independent, reliable sources, it still gets deleted.
What the Wikipedia deletion log tells you
Importantly, every deletion has a reason recorded in the public deletion log. So read it first. For example, if the reason is "A7 — no claim of significance" the community did not see notability. However, if the reason is "G11 — unambiguous advertising" the tone was the problem. In other words, different causes need different solutions. For reference, the speedy deletion criteria are public.

Request a confidential assessmentCan you try again after a Wikipedia deletion?
Yes, but not naively. After all, a second attempt that repeats the mistakes of the first will be deleted faster — and the community has memory.
In practice, a successful second attempt typically requires: first, new independent sources (media coverage from after the deletion is ideal); second, a fundamentally different tone; third, a completely new editor; and finally, transparent disclosure. Sometimes, however, it simply requires waiting — for new media coverage to develop.
The honest assessment
In some cases, the first deletion was correct — the subject simply does not meet Wikipedia's notability standard yet. So our assessment will tell you so honestly. Otherwise, pushing forward regardless wastes money and time.

See our approachThe strategic patience path
For subjects genuinely close to the threshold, the best strategy is often: wait. In the meantime, develop new independent media coverage. Publish. Be interviewed. Also, let reputable sources generate new substantive coverage. Finally, return to Wikipedia 12–24 months later with a stronger case.
